Please read the following important regulatory information about our personal loans
We are obliged under the Credit Reporting Act 2013 to collect and verify your PPSN. PTSB will collect your PPSN for all credit applications of €500 or greater.
You will need to provide any one of the following documents as proof of your PPSN during your application:
Please note: we cannot accept your Public Services Card as proof of PPSN
Under the terms and conditions of this product, if your loan application is successful we will place a lien on your deposit account or take an assignment of a third party assignable bond or policy for the duration of the loan. A lien is where the deposit is held as security against the loan. It means that while your loan is still outstanding, no withdrawals can be made from your deposit.
If the loan is not repaid, the deposit can be offset by us against the balance due. Where you assign a bond or policy to us, ownership of the bond/policy is passed to us until such time as the loan and interest is repaid.
If the loan is not repaid, we will obtain the value of the bond/policy from the institution that issued the bond/policy and the amount received will be offset against the balance due. The value of the deposit on which the lien is to be placed or the value of the bond/policy to be assigned to us must be in the correct proportion to the sum borrowed.
This proportion is based on the Cash Secured product being availed of. E.g. If you want to avail of a 50% Cash Secured Loan, the value of your deposit on which the lien is to be placed must be at least 50% of the amount borrowed.
