We have two available options for you to choose from when transferring money from your PTSB account.
If you are looking to send money between banks in Euro, and within the European Economic Area (EEA), this is done through the SEPA network. It is the same as making a payment between banks within Ireland.
SEPA payments for less than €10,000 can be made through the PTSB App or through Open24 Online Banking.
Alternatively, you can make a SEPA payment over the phone with one of our advisors by contacting us on 0818 50 24 24 or +353 1 212 4101 (from overseas). Lines are open from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays).
Payments over €10,000 and outside of the EEA will need to be completed by:
Please refer to our guide on how to make international transfers or payments over €10,000.
If you are looking to send money internationally (outside of the EEA) this is known as a SWIFT payment. Foreign Currency or Euro Payments to a non-EEA country are classed as a ‘Currency Payment’ and are processed via the SWIFT Network.
For payments being processed via the SWIFT network, PTSB will send payments known as a 'SHARE' transfer fee type, also referred to as 'SHA'.
This means that any international transfer fees are shared between the sender and receiver. The sender pays the costs to send money through the bank, while the receiver deals with any charges to collect the funds.
To process a SEPA Payment over €10,000 or a SWIFT payment, you will need to complete our payment form and attend one of our partcipating Branches to validate your request.
Your payment will not be processed until you visit one of our branches with an acceptable form of ID for validation.
