Digital Correspondence

We’ve listened to customer feedback, and soon you will be able to receive some letters about your banking faster and more sustainably, by email instead of post.

Read on, and we’ll explain how this will work, hopefully answering any questions you might have.

What is Digital Correspondence?

Digital Correspondence is the process of receiving some documents, notifications and communications by email instead of through paper mail. From 23 of June 2025 customers will be able to receive some letters and documents faster, and more sustainably, by email instead of post. Over time, more letters will be added, and we will also start to send documentation to your Online Banking or PTSB App.

Phased rollout of Digital Correspondence

We are gradually introducing Digital Correspondence as an alternative to paper letters sent by post. At first this will only be for certain letters or documents, and you will still receive other communications from us by post.

What letters will I receive by email instead of post?

As part of the Digital Correspondence rollout, certain letters and documents will be sent by email. These include:

  • Current Account Welcome letter: When you open an Explore Current Account in branch, you'll receive a welcome email confirming your account details and important information to help you get the most of your new account.
  • Switching to an Explore Account (from a Student Account): If you switch from a student account to an Explore Current Account, you'll receive a welcome email outlining the changes to your account.
  • Fixed Term Deposit Account opening and maturity notice: After you open a Fixed Term Deposit Account, we'll send you an email confirming your account details. When your account is close to reaching maturity, we’ll send you an email to notify you.
  • Variable Deposit Account Opening letter: When you open a Variable Deposit Account, you will receive email confirmation explaining your account and confirming your account details.
  • Online 40 Day Notice Account Opening letter: After opening an Online 40 Day Notice Account, you'll receive an email with your account details and an explanation of how the notice period works.
  • Balance Trigger letter (21 Day Notice Account): If your balance falls below the required amount, we’ll send you an email to notify you.
