We are proud to be the first bank worldwide to add an extra layer of anti-fraud protection to our banking app to further protect our customers (Available on version 11.6.1 and above). Keep an eye on future PTSB Protect updates in the PTSB App.
This new opt-in feature offers much needed protection against criminals who trick customers into sharing security information by sending deceptive messages with links - something PTSB will never do.
While we can’t completely stop criminals from targeting our customers, this new feature can help prevent some fraudulent activity. This added feature is designed to guard you against criminals who might try to trick you into clicking on harmful links or sharing sensitive details.
When you enable this new feature on your mobile device, any incoming potentially risky texts or fraudulent websites will be identified and flagged to you where they are present on our known fraud list. We encourage you to take advantage of this added layer of security, available to all our customers. For details on how to enable this new service, please see our how to guide below.
PTSB Protect may appear slightly different on Android and iOS operating systems. These differences are due to the unique characteristics of Android and iOS. We've optimised this feature for each platform to provide the best user experience.

Incoming text messages containing links to websites will be scanned against the PTSB Protect blocklist.
If the messages contain a link to know fraudulent website, a flagged phone number or commonly used fraud-related wording, a pop out warning message will be displayed on screen. The text message conversations will then turn red, ensuring clear differentiation from genuine messages.
