How to apply for Loan

 

To apply for a Personal Loan online, you must be a PTSB customer registered for Open24 Online Banking. If you have not registered for Open24, follow this guide to get set up.

 

Apply for a loan through the PTSB App

Step 1: Log into the PTSB App

  1. Open the PTSB App and enter 3 digits of your Personal Access Number (PAN).
  2. Select "Apply" from the bottom menu. 
  3. Select "Loans", then select "Apply now". 
  4. Read the important information on screen, then select "Continue". 
  5. Check the documents you will need to apply for a Personal Loan.

 

Step 2: Start your application

  1. Select "Start application" and answer the questions to complete the application. 
  2. You will receive a security code by text message to your registered mobile number which will be active for 5 minutes. Enter the code, then select "Continue".
  3. Verify your address and tick the box to acknowledge all declarations, then select "Continue". 
  4. Give your consent to be contacted at work as required under the Consumer Credit Act 1995
  5. Confirm you have read the Data Protection Notice, credit checking and reporting information, then select "Continue". 

 

Step 3: Choose your loan details

  1. Choose the type of Loan you want. 
  2. Specify how much you would like to borrow. 
  3. Choose the duration of your loan from the menu. 
  4. Indicate the purpose of the loan (e.g., new car, home improvement, holiday, wedding, education). 

If you have existing savings, you could use them to get a lower interest rate.

  1. Select your savings percentage amount from the menu and tap "Continue".
  2. Select "Show me my options" to view loan products suited for your needs.
  3. Once satisfied, tap "Continue application".
  4. Your Personal Loan application will then be under review. 

Apply for a loan through Open24 Online Banking

Step 1: Log into Open24 Online Banking

  1. Visit Open24 Online Banking and log in by entering your Open24 Number, followed by your internet password. Forgot your password?
  2. Enter 3 digits of your Personal Access Number (PAN).
  3. Select "Apply online" from the menu on the left hand side. 
  4. Under "Borrow - Loans", select "Apply now". 
  5. Check the documents you will need to apply for a Personal Loan.

 

Important information

If you are an existing PTSB customer, and your loan application is approved, you will then need to submit proof of your Personal Public Service Number (PPSN), if we do not have this on file. 

 

Step 2: Start your application

  1. Read the important information on screen, then select "Start application". 
  2. You will receive a security code by text message to your registered mobile number which is activated for 5 minutes. Enter the code, then select "Continue".
  3. Verify your address or update your address, then select "Continue". 
  4. Tick the boxes to acknowledge all declarations, and to give your consent to be contacted at work as required under the Consumer Credit Act 1995.
  5. Confirm you have read the Data Protection Notice, credit checking and reporting information, then select "Continue". 

 

Step 3: Choose your loan details

  1. Choose the type of Loan you want. 
  2. Specify how much you would like to borrow. 
  3. Choose the duration of your loan from the menu. 
  4. Indicate the purpose of the loan (e.g., new car, home improvement, holiday, wedding, education).

  4. Your Personal Loan application will then be under review.
